We continued with our riot of colour this week, painting these beautiful tigers and collaging the background to add texture and colour.
This is a lovely technique, all the better as the materials came from the scrap bank!
The first stage is tracing or drawing the tigers onto the acetate. Tracing is a great skill for young people, it helps to focus the eye, picking out the important lines which make up the essential shape. The children did a brilliant job of catching the character of their tigers.
Next we added colour to the back of the acetate images. No need to fill in the whole thing, just splashes of acrylic colour here and there.
The final stage is to create a collage on white paper, this is a lovely, free activity after so much focussed work and the kids had a great time playing with the coloured papers!
